Tell me about a time you had to adapt?
A year ago, I was asked by a manager to move to another office to help with the workload. As the department was different I had to adapt to a new environment, new coworkers, new procedures, new software that the team was using. What I have done was to attend all meetings with my new colleagues to get to know how this new department is working, I although used my time off work to meet with my new colleagues and asked them about the job, and I although took my time to learn new software and new procedures. As a result that helped me to be more efficient, to adapt quickly and my new managers directly told me how happy they were for the way I adapted to their department
Here you need to remember one of the challenging situations that happened to you at work, or previous occupation ( Important here: if you were already working as a Flight Attendant it is better to bring examples from the times you worked on board).
The best way to reply to « tell me about the time… » question is using the STAR method.
Listen carefully to the question and try to think of an event or situation.
S - Situation ( describe the situation or an event that happened to you);
T - Task ( describe the task that had to be completed );
A - Action (describe an action completed by you in order to resolve an issue);
R - Result (finish your answer with the result achieved);
The STAR method give you a guaranty of present structure in your answer, and will include the information the interviewer is looking for.
